Happy Fall, Ya’ll! My favorite season for many reasons: cooler weather, layers of clothes, warm drinks, and changing colors. For every season, I try to make a list of my favorite activities. This year, I made a pdf of my Fall Bucket List and saved it to my phone for easy access as I work through the season. Most of this list is combo deals. In one day, you can complete 5 or more items on the list. Here are my 18 favorite fall activities:
Fall Bucket List
- Apple Picking
- Bake Apple Pie
- Make Applesauce or Apple Butter (If you go to an apple orchard, ask the staff about specific apples for certain recipes.)
Yes, I kinda go apple crazy in the Fall, but I just can’t help it! All of social media goes crazy about pumpkin spice everything, but I’m all about the apples: apple pie, apple butter, applesauce, apple cider donuts, apple cider, apple fritters, fried apples, etc.
- Watch a scary movie
- Make soup in a crock-pot
- Hike
- Step on crunchy leaves (Best sound in the world!)
- Tailgate
- Have a campfire
- Roast S’mores (Expert tip: Use Reese’s peanut butter cups instead of a bar of chocolate.)
- Pumpkin picking
- Pumpkin carving/painting (I did a Cinderella pumpkin back in 2012 and set it outside for trick-or-treaters on Halloween. All the kids loved it!)
- Wander through a corn maze
- Take a Hay ride
- VOTE (This isn’t on my PDF, but don’t forget to vote. That’s as political as Unseen Footprints will ever get.)
Don’t forget the Fall Drink List
- Apple Cider (OF COURSE!)
- Chai Tea
- Pumpkin Spice Latte (As much as I love apples, I still indulge in pumpkin spice lattes.)
Save my pdf and enjoy all these seasonal activities!

Thank you for so many great ideas. I love scary movies and walking amongst the gorgeous autumn colours. This autumn I really want to learn a good recipe for apple cake too.

Thanks for visiting! Ooohh, apple cake sounds delicious. I may have to try a recipe myself.

Love this list, and even as a pumpkin fanatic myself, it is refreshing to see someone who appreciates apples! One of my favorite fall breakfast items actually combines the two. Make apple rings (slice apples and cut the core out of the center of each one, dip in pumpkin pancake batter, and throw them on the griddle! You could always do it with plain pancake batter too I suppose, but this is my favorite.
I have lived in New England my whole life and have never hiked during fall foliage season but it is on my bucket list this year!

Oh my goodness! That sounds amazing! I’ll have to try that recipe out.

Great List! So I’m totally one of “those” pumpkin spice people, BBBUUUUUTTT, I’m also all about the apples!! I think I’m gonna do the apple butter this year. Oh, and peanut butter cup S’mores?! Um, yes please!
edmccartney says
Oh, I do have plenty of pumpkin spice, but apples all around. Make apple butter in the crockpot over night…best smell to wake up to!
Peanut butter cups are a game changer.

All these Autumn things are making me sad that we’re currently entering Spring here in Australia.. and I love Spring aha.
I think I may bake a pie this month – why not? 😛 Then I’ll feel like I’m in Autumn just for a little while. 🙂
Lovely list.

Go for it! I sometimes partake in some Autumn activities during other seasons just because I can’t wait another year for it.

Stepping / stomping / jumping on crunchy leaves is one of our favorite things to do too!
